» How to become a foster parent?

The procedures and the thought of excessive bureaucracy can seem daunting. Don't worry. The Family Foster Care team will support you if you need it.

It doesn't matter whether you own a house or an apartment. Your marital status is irrelevant. If you have the means and, above all, the desire to provide a child with the right conditions for development, you can become one too. You must have no criminal record. You must be legally capable of performing acts and properly caring for a child (to confirm this, you will interview a member of the Family Foster Care Team). After collecting the appropriate documentation and undergoing a psychological assessment, we will visit you at your current residence. After receiving a positive initial qualification, you will begin training. This lasts several months and culminates in you receiving a certificate. This will allow you to become a foster parent and, likely soon, be able to begin a new chapter in your child's life... and your own.

    STEP 1

Submitting the appropriate application to MOPS.

    STEP 2

Psychological examination (interview with a psychologist and tests).

    STEP 3

Completing the necessary documentation and a visit from the Family Foster Care Team to your place of residence, along with time to clarify any doubts that may arise.

    STEP 4

    Qualification for training.

    STEP 5

The training lasts approximately 3 months and ends with the receipt of an appropriate certificate confirming the acquired competences.

    STEP 6

Submitting an application to MOPS for a certificate of eligibility to become a foster parent.

    STEP 7

Creating a happy, ordinary family with your child.
