SPECIALIST SUPPORT
You'll receive support from your assigned coordinator, and thanks to the team's flexible working hours, even unforeseen situations shouldn't pose a major challenge. Each foster family in Gdynia also has immediate access to psychological, educational, and legal support, as well as a center for the diagnosis and treatment of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD).
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Foster parents are also entitled to appropriate financial support, and two separate, dedicated teams in our city handle financial and professional matters. Each child in foster care is entitled to a monthly allowance to cover living costs.
Professional foster families in Gdynia can count on assistance in finding suitable housing and paying the rent.
Being a foster parent entitles you to the "Family 800+" and "Good Start" benefits.
Once a year, you can also receive financial support for a summer trip.
VACATION AND INITIATIVES
The Family Care Team in Gdynia collaborates extensively with local, socially responsible partners, resulting in exciting initiatives in which you can participate. For children, these include the Baby Shark project – swimming lessons, subsidized activities, including specialized activities for children with disabilities, tickets to various cultural and sporting events, occasional packages, and relaxation activities. Foster parents, on the other hand, can expand their skills through additional training, among other things. Dedicated support groups are also available.
Due to leave or unforeseen circumstances, the child you care for won't be left alone, as they will be cared for by a support family, which may be a person trained to act as a foster or adoptive family.
